Many times we have heard "my piece is new" "it has no ornate detailing" "its really shiny new piece," this is a perfect example of how incredible Chalk Paint™ by Annie sloan is, how age and character, if wanted, is not limited by the style of furniture you have or is it limited to just ornate pieces. Our client struggled to find a character piece for her entrance area, it needed to be a specific size and unfortunately at the time we couldn't help but we discussed completing a paint finish on any piece that she could find to make it a rustic beauty. Our client had this cabinet made with the dimensions to fit her space, a completely shiny new surface square top with no detailing and overall a very blocky piece, with a factory like finish. Our lovely client was taken by Renee on of our rustic pieces in the gallery and after choosing Florence as her main colour she gave us complete artistic freedom to create with the brief being a bespoke rustic farmhouse like feel with lots of character for a striking entrance area. Hand painted in layers of Arles, Primer Red, Provence, Louis Blue, Duck Egg and Barcelona Orange and Florence being the main colour. Using Annie Sloans medium brush we did some brushwork creating texture over texture over texture. The layers were then scraped, sanded and distressed back to expose the beautiful colours, we then completed a Florence mixed with Graphite wash over selected areas, then clear and dark waxed to give age and accentuate all of the beautiful texture. A complete transformation showing that even a factory finish type piece is no challenge for Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan. Now sitting as a beautiful bespoke piece with such depth in colour and texture it is a piece of art in itself.
